At First Step Recovery Center, we recommend a variety of programs for our patients based on their needs and on their levels of addiction. Another item that we take into consideration is how much family support they have. While traditional programs focused mainly on the health of the patient, we now know that a multifaceted approach that takes into account the needs of the entire family unit is best. In fact, this is what is recommended by both the U.S Department of Health and Human Services and the National Institute on Drug Abuse.

Family Support During Adelanto Addiction Treatment Programs

Adelanto Family Programs have a variety of benefits for both the patient and his or her family. The patients will feel that they are well-supported by the family and will feel confident that the family is learning correct information about the addiction. The entire family will benefit from the bonding that can occur during these times as well as from the deep level of understanding that happens. Family members will also learn how to care for their own physical and emotional needs during this time while setting boundaries and not enabling the patient to return to his or her dangerous habits. Family programs can help stop the dangerous cycle of substance abuse that is often seen running through families even throughout several generations.

It is particularly important for family members to join therapy programs if they have contributed to the substance abuse by using codependent behaviors.[/su_note]

Recovery & Rehabilitation for Adelanto Families

At First Step Rehab Center, which serves the Adelanto area, we offer a variety of family programs to ensure that no one is left out. Some are similar to group therapy during which all family members and the patient are able to share their feelings and concerns. Other programs are set up for education by allowing a doctor, psychiatrist or other health care professional to teach the entire family about addiction.

A patient’s team of healthcare providers will determine what styles of treatment are best for the patient and will reevaluate the treatment plan often to determine if it is working.[/su_note]
