Preparing for Life after Treatment
The foundation of First Step Recovery Center’s treatment program for drug abuse and alcoholism is our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). The core curriculum of the IOP is centered in an evidence-based program developed by the leading substance abuse treatment program in the United States. In addition to a series of group sessions and process groups, there are individual therapy and family therapy sessions included.
The mission of the IOP is to help the client find their way to a complete lifestyle change, free from slavery to drugs and alcohol, using the basic tools of a sober life and with new skills to handle life’s challenges without the need to resort to mind-altering drugs or alcohol. Our approach seeks to guide our clients to “life after treatment” as a clean and sober member of society and supported one day at a time by the welcoming acceptance of the world-wide community of other recovering men and women.
Your Journey Begins at First Step Recovery Center
As our name implies, the “First Step” in recovery is the most important and requires the honest admission to the innermost self of powerlessness over the cunning, baffling, and relentless power of alcohol and mind-altering drugs of Hesperia, Adelanto, and elsewhere. What is also required is an inner admission that a life under the power of these substances just isn’t working any more.
Then, to learn a skill, one needs a teacher and mentor. To take a difficult journey through uncharted territory, one should employ a guide who has been there before. First Step Recovery Center in Victorville is ready to be that teacher, mentor, and guide.
